Exclusion of the Press and the Pu= blic – Terms of Formal Resolution

It is resolved to exclude the press and public = on the grounds that the following items contain exempt information as defined by t= he Local Government Act 1972 Schedule 12A

42/09  Recruitment – Full-time Assistant/Deputy Clerk

42.01 Notes regarding the short listing process from the Recruitment Panel were present= ed and a proposal from the Recruitment Panel was discussed.  The Clerk asked for it to be minut= ed that training could not reasonably be completed within the 5 month period between the 6 months probation period and 11 month fixed term contract.  Resolved:  Cllr D Airley proposed to offer po= sition of Assistant/Deputy Clerk to Mr Malcolm Silver, seconded by Cllr Paul, all agreed.  Resolved:  Starting salary will be NALC/SLCC Grade LC1 Point 24, Proposed by Cllr Mrs Marshall, seconded by Cllr Paul, all agreed.

42.02 Contract of Employment

Examples of suggested Contract of Employment and Confirmation of Offer already circulated to memb= ers was discussed.  The examples w= ere provided by South East Employers (the Parish Council’s appointed HR Advisors) based on an 11 month contract.

Amendments were disc= ussed and approved and attached herewith.  Resolved:  Cllr Hemmings proposed that Council adopt the ”acas code of practise 1” on disciplinary and grievan= ce procedures for all staff as an agenda item for F&GP Committee, seconded= by Cllr Reeves, all agreed.

Standing Orders were suspended in order for the= Clerk to telephone Mr Malcolm Silver for confirmation of acceptance of offer at 1= 1.50.

Standing Orders resumed.<= /p>

The Clerk informed m= embers that Mr Malcolm Silver had accepted the offer of position of Assistant/Depu= ty Clerk. It was agreed that Mr Malcolm Silver would start employment when the Clerk returns from holiday leave on 22nd February 2010.
