Wooburn, Bourne End & District Refief in Sickness Charity

The aim of the charity is to give financial help to residents of Wooburn, Bourne End and part of Little Marlow when difficulties are encountered due to ill health.  They rely on local general practitioners, health visitors, district nurses and the clergy to inform them of any possible recipients.  For instance, patients requiring many hospital visits are helped with the cost of transport and/or car parking.  Patients are assisted with the cost of prescription charges, repair and maintenance of wheelchairs, in fact any of the numerous financial problems caused by ill health and bereavement in a family.

The Trustees meet twice a year but urgent cases are referred to Dorothea Heyes which are then put before the Chairman of Trustees and, if necessary, another Trustee.
