We are so proud to share that <\/span>Wooburn and Bourne End finished<\/span> joint Runner-Up<\/span><\/strong> in this year’s Pushman Cup with 193 marks out of 200<\/strong>! A huge achievement for our very first year of entry, especially as we were just 3 points off the winning score. We were also awarded the <\/span>Dashwood Trophy as Best Runner-Up<\/span><\/strong> (who have not won a cup in the past five years).<\/span><\/p>

Thank you to all who got involved to make the best of our villages really stand out to the judges. We couldn’t have done it without your support!<\/p>

Judges marks and notes:<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u201cThe Warren Nature Reserve is a beautiful nature reserve for the villages to enjoy. Bourne End Recreation Ground and Blind Lane both have children\u2019s play areas. 35\/35<\/span><\/p>

Lovely floral displays around the village green in Wooburn. 14\/15<\/span><\/p>

There are numerous green spaces and ponds as well as sections of the River Wye which contribute to a well-maintained environment. 20\/20<\/span><\/p>

(Quality of Competition entry – up to date and detailed map with features highlighted) – An exceptional entry with clear walking routes marked and photographs which really help with identification. 10\/10<\/span><\/p>

Strong evidence of community engagement, the Bourne End Community Centre plays host to many activities and events.<\/span> The Target magazine is a great source of information.<\/span> The Best Kept Village Competition features on the Parish Council website and front page of Target Magazine. 20\/20<\/span><\/p>
