Becoming a Parish Councillor

We currently have 5 vacancies on The Council.

If you are interested in joining, please email [email protected] for more information.

Being a Parish Councillor is an extremely important and fulfilling role. From helping the community make decisions on facilities and homes being proposed in the area, to attending local events to speak with residents directly, there are so many ways in which you can help.

As a Councillor you would be required to attend the Full Council meetings which are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. There are a number of sub committees and it would be for you to decide on which of these you might wish to serve, depending on whether there are vacancies.

"I decided to apply after a friend told me W&BEPC was on the point of being absorbed by Wycombe District Council because there were so few councillors. I've always liked the quintessential Britishness of things such as Parish Councils."

"The Parish Council is a wonderful mix of people with different backgrounds and interests, but everybody shares the same goals of making this a wonderful place to live, work and bring up a family. What I love most about the role is giving residents a voice for things that the parish could benefit from for local, community, voluntary and environmental opportunities."

"I joined The Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council 5 years ago as I felt I would like to represent my local community. I'm proud that our Parish Council continues to make changes to work in an environmentally friendly way where possible."
