Referendum results

On behalf of Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council, a big thank you to our residents for voting in favour of the neighbourhood plan.
There were 1,456 votes cast (out of an electorate of 8501) meaning a 17% turnout, of which 88% voted for the Neighbourhood Plan.
The Neighbourhood Development Plan is a technical term within the Localism Act, and in our case does not direct development, rather it sets Policies to address local issues related to continuing development through infill.
SURVEY: Consultation on Activities for Young People and Potential Provision of a Local Skate Park

Have your say by clicking here.
Wooburn & Bourne End Parish Council (PC) supports the provision of recreational facilities for all members of our community. The PC has a strong track record of investing in playground equipment, providing facilities for local sports clubs, as well as attractive walks within its maintained parks. The PC also provides grants to fund third party activities on an individual case basis. There has long been an awareness of the lack of outdoor facilities for young people (older children and teenagers) within our community beyond the shelter in Wakeman Road.
The PC also became aware of a very well-subscribed petition organized by a local student who was keen to see more activity areas for young people, notably a skate park in the local area. The PC, along with Chepping Wycombe PC, has undertaken some preliminary research into such activities through a Skate Park Feasibility Group over the last year or so. They have contacted other Town and Parish Council’s with similar facilities, reviewed potential sites and had some preliminary discussions with a skate park consultant. Prior to moving to more detailed studies, the PC would like to get the views of the community, across all ages and needs, on the provision of activities for young people and a potential skate park.
Please complete this brief survey and encourage your family and friends in the area to do likewise to ensure we get an excellent response and cross-section of the community. We would like to hear from children too, so please ask them to complete this and help as necessary. All responses are anonymous.
The survey will close on Sunday 1st October 2023.
The PC will collate the findings and publish the results in due course. If you have any questions, please contact the Clerk at clerk@wooburnparish.gov.uk
Thank you.
Forever Remembered

We are pleased to have installed a very special white post box in the cemetery.
Whether you wish to write to your loved one on the day of an important anniversary or have no specific reason for doing so, this is a dedicated place for posting your letter.
Letters will be collected regularly, turned to pulp and mixed with wildflower seeds, then scattered around The Parish.
We welcome anybody who would like to use it - this is not just for families who have graves to visit here.

Time to get walking again!
11
"With Spring on its way we start to think about getting out to walk in the beautiful English Countryside again, but where to find new and interesting walks? Walking in Bucks https://www.walkinginengland.co.uk/bucks has loads of walks to download and print, free, it also has books of walks, details of all the walking groups in the county and much more. Whether you want to walk on your own or with a group all the information is there in one place.
There is so much walking information on the web but it is difficult to find. Walking in Bucks (part of the Walking in England website) has brought it together in one place so whether you are walking from home, or away on holiday, you will be able to find a walk suitable for you.
With walks from half a mile to twelve miles plus long, and a note of suitability for pushchairs and wheelchairs, everyone can find a walk to enjoy.
So home or away, check out the websites and get walking!"
