Wooburn and Bourne End Parish has been awarded the Pushman Cup as part of Buckinghamshire’s Best Kept Village Competition.
Having finished as joint Runner-Up in 2025, the Parish improved its score this year to an outstanding 194 out of a possible 200 marks, securing first place in only its second year of entering the competition.
Judges praised many aspects of the Parish, awarding full marks in most categories. Their comments highlighted the exceptional quality of the competition entry, strong evidence of community engagement, and the excellent condition of local facilities and public spaces.
Particular praise was given to the Parish’s green spaces, including children’s play areas, cricket and tennis facilities, the new path around Wooburn Park, and the Warren Nature Reserve. Floral displays throughout Wooburn and Bourne End also received top marks, alongside the maintenance of hedges, verges, wildflower areas, bus shelters, noticeboards, information signs, and the War Memorial.
The Parish Council would like to thank all residents, volunteers, local organisations, and community groups who contributed towards this achievement. Special recognition goes to the Wooburn Residents Association, the BBKV Volunteer Network, and the Parish Grounds Team for their continued commitment to caring for and improving our community.
